On chain models for contact electrification [PDF]
Abstract An exact analytical model of charge dynamics for a chain of atoms with asymmetric hopping terms is presented. Analytic and numeric results are shown to give rise to similar dynamics in both the absence and presence of electron interactions.

Modeling the Emergence of Contact Languages [PDF]
Contact languages are born out of the non-trivial interaction of two (or more) parent languages. Nowadays, the enhanced possibility of mobility and communication allows for a strong mixing of languages and cultures, thus raising the issue of whether there are any pure languages or cultures that are unaffected by contact with others. As with bacteria or

Contact Hypersensitivity as a Murine Model of Allergic Contact Dermatitis
Contact hypersensitivity (CHS) is an experimental model of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) that can be studied in mice. This study aims to present an objective laboratory method that may help to study the CHS reaction in mice, which can be measured and quantified by various tests. To induce CHS, on day "0", mice were sensitized on a previously shaved

Mechanical properties of wetting contacts between coarse-grained limestone
In order to explore inter-particle contact mechanical properties of geotechnical coarse particles after wetting, the contact form between coarse particles is simplified into point-surface contact.

Grousers Effect in Tracked Vehicle Multibody Dynamics with Deformable Terrain Contact Model
In this work, a multibody model of a small size farming tracked vehicle is shown. Detailed models of each track were coupled with the rigid body model of the vehicle. To describe the interaction between the track and the ground in case of deformable soil,

Normal contact stiffness model considering 3D surface topography and actual contact status [PDF]
A normal contact stiffness model considering 3D topography and elastic–plastic contact of rough surfaces is presented in this paper. The asperities are generated from the measured surfaces using the watershed segmentation and a modified nine-point ...
