Contact patterns at the tarsal joints
Clinical Biomechanics, 1997OBJECTIVE: To determine the contact patterns at the tarsal joints under two levels of loading (150 and 600 N) with the foot in the neutral position, plantarflexion, dorsiflexion, inversion and eversion. DESIGN: In vitro measurements quantifying the size, location and patterns of contact.

Contact shot with unusual soot pattern
Forensic Science International, 2005In a suicidal shot to the temple two roundish zones of powder soot blackening were found above the entrance wound. The paired zones of powder soot blackening were caused by two gas outlets located on the upper side of the muzzle end of the weapon used (converted blank cartridge pistol of make Rhöner).

Occlusal contact patterns – Population-based data
Annals of Anatomy - Anatomischer Anzeiger, 2007The reconstruction of functionally appropriate contacts between antagonistic teeth substantially determines the quality of prosthetic-restorative work. In a population-based sample comprising 2597 subjects, static occlusal contacts were registered and analysed using the GEDAS (Greifswald Digital Analyzing System), which digitally represents the contact

Characterizing pairwise contact patterns in human contact networks
Ad Hoc Networks, 2012We use a counting process representation of the pairwise contact process to analyze pairwise contact patterns. Studying two real-world traces, we find that the pairwise contact patterns have three characteristics. First, human contact patterns are influenced by daily and weekly cycles of activity.

Reducing Contact Resistance in Graphene Devices through Contact Area Patterning
ACS Nano, 2013Performance of graphene electronics is limited by contact resistance associated with the metal-graphene (M-G) interface, where unique transport challenges arise as carriers are injected from a 3D metal into a 2D-graphene sheet. In this work, enhanced carrier injection is experimentally achieved in graphene devices by forming cuts in the graphene within

Cross-Reactivity Patterns of Contact-Sensitizing Methacrylates
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1998Methacrylates are well-known contact sensitizers with increasing frequency of contact leading to occupational skin disease. Here, we developed an animal model to facilitate studies on the sensitizing capacities and cross-reactivity patterns between four clinically most important allergens: methacrylate (MMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA), 2 ...

Lithography for patterning trench contacts
Microelectronic Engineering, 1992Abstract Lithography processes suitable for the patterning of buried trench contacts were tested for two different stacked capacitor cell concepts and evaluated with respect to process latitudes.

Unusual Patterns in Contact Dermatitis: Medicaments
Dermatologic Clinics, 2009Allergic contact dermatitis to topical medicaments occurs often. Common medicaments associated with allergic contact dermatitis include topically applied antibiotics, antihistamines, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, anesthetics, and corticosteroids.

Patterns of diversification and contact
2020This chapter presents the main questions raised in this book, as well as introducing some key notions that play a role in their answering. How did languages spread across the globe, and what are the implications for our understanding of human prehistory?
