Contact Ratio of Spatial Helix Gearing Mechanism

Volume 3: Design, Materials and Manufacturing, Parts A, B, and C, 2012
The contact ratio of spatial helix gear is deduced, and impacting factors of the contact ratio are analyzed. Then different design methods of contact ratio are discussed. The contact ratio could be designed flexibly. The theoretical gear ratio could be expanded to 36 with compact structure.

Contact stress calculation of high transverse contact ratio spur and helical gear teeth

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2013
Abstract For contact stress calculations of spur and helical gears, the Hertz equation can be used in combination with a model of load distribution along the line of contact. This load distribution is not uniform due to the changing rigidity of the pair of teeth along the path of contact and has decisive influence on the location and the value of the

Load Sharing and Contact Stress Calculation of High Contact Ratio Internal Spur Gears

, 2015
This paper presents a model of load sharing for high contact ratio internal spur gears, which takes into account the changing rigidity of the pair of teeth along the path of contact. It has been obtained from the minimum elastic potential energy criterion, resulting in a non-uniform load distribution among several tooth-pairs in simultaneous contact ...

Tooth flank modification to reduce transmission error and mesh-in impact force in consideration of contact ratio for helical gears

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2020
In this paper, a new tooth modification method considering the contact ratio of gears and a new method for calculating the mesh-in impact force of modified helical gears are proposed.

Contact force ratio

Prosthetics & Orthotics International, 2004
Static footprint parameters have been used to quantify arch height with conflicting results. This could be caused by the inherent inaccuracy and variations of the methodology used. Since the foot is a dynamic structure that undergoes changes during a step, it is more desirable to capture and analyse the dynamic footprint at an instant during the gait ...

Tool-Work Contact Ratio and Parametric Influence in Ultrasonic Vibration–Assisted Turning of Ti6Al4V Alloy

, 2020
The performance of the machining process depends on the time of contact of the cutting tool with the workpiece. In this work, the effect of vibrating and cutting parameters on tool-work contact ratio (TWCR) in ultrasonic vibration–assisted turning (UVAT)

Spur gears with contact ratio less than unity

Revista del Diseño Innovativo, 2022
The objective of this research is to evaluate the design of a pair of spur gears and another analogous pair with a contact ratio of less than unity. Considering two pairs of normalized gears with equal diametral pitches and pressure angles, as well as equal pitch radii in their driving gears and equal pitch radii in their driven gears.
