On Triangle Contact Graphs

It is proved that any plane graph may be represented by a triangle contact system, that is a collection of triangular disks which are disjoint except at contact points, each contact point being a node of exactly one triangle. Representations using contacts of T-or Y-shaped objects follow.

A contact detection algorithm for triangle boundary in GPU-based DEM and its application in a large-scale landslide

Abstract Triangle boundaries are crucial geometric objects in the discrete element method (DEM). In this study, an improvement for the uniform grid method is proposed and implemented on the GPU. The improved algorithm includes the spatial discretization of triangles in which triangles are classified by their size and motion.

Contact Line Quadrilateral Relation. Generalization of the Neumann Triangle Relation To Include Line Tension

The contact line quadrilateral relation is a generalization of the classical Neumann triangle relation that includes the effect of line tension. The relation is derived using a minimum free energy principle that may be graphically represented by a quadrilateral whose four sides consist of three surface tension quantities and a line tension term.

Impact of surface elasticity for the contact problem on tangential triangle distribution force

This paper proposes an application of surface elasticity theory in the analysis of the contact problem at nanoscale. The Fourier integral transform method is adopted to derive the fundamental solutions for the contact problem. As a special case, the deformation induced by a tangential triangle distribution force is discussed in detail.
