Static 3D Triangle Mesh Compression Overview [PDF]
3D triangle meshes are extremely used to model discrete surfaces, and almost always represented with two tables: one for geometry and another for connectivity.

Design of a Multistable Finger Prosthesis with Programmable Metamaterials
This research article shows the development of a multistable programmble metamaterial for the use as a finger prosthesis. The material was designed on different hierarchical levels where the influence of geometrical parameters and combination of mechanical elements was explored.

Finite element analysis of nanoindentation pile-up and correction of projected contact area
This paper deals with the pile-up phenomenon that can occur during nanoindentation. Finite Element (FE) simulation of X5CrNiCuNb16-4 steel nanoindentation with pyramidal Berkovich indenter was done, and stress and strain beneath the indenter leading to ...

In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Mutual information and variants for protein domain-domain contact prediction
Background Predicting protein contacts solely based on sequence information remains a challenging problem, despite the huge amount of sequence data at our disposal. Mutual Information (MI), an information theory measure, has been extensively employed and

Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights
