Revising Fascial Anatomy With a Focus on the Fusion Fascia in Mesenteric Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgery

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 372-385, March 2026.
This review critically reassesses our prior hypothesis and proposes a revised anatomical model of the fusion fascia that is broadly applicable to GI cancer surgeries grounded in the principles of mesenteric resection. Our synthesis suggests that the fusion fascia is neither a dense connective tissue membrane nor a remnant of mesothelial fusion, but ...

The learning curve of single‐port extraperitoneal robotic radical prostatectomy: Initial experience and outcomes from a newly graduated fellowship‐trained robotic surgeon

open access: yesBJUI Compass, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Introduction and Objective This study aims to evaluate the learning curve and perioperative outcomes of single‐port extraperitoneal robotic radical prostatectomy (SP‐EP‐RARP) performed by a single surgeon at a high‐volume academic institution. Methods A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database was conducted for patients who ...

Investigating the Genetic Underpinnings of Ongoing Fall Armyworm (FAW) Range Expansion in Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We generated new genomic resources for the invasion front of fall armyworm in Oceania, confirming that the new invasions conform to the population structure initially identified in Benin. We also identified SNVs associated with insecticide resistance that should be a focus of future tracking of the invasion front and established populations.

Embryonic Hormetic Priming Modulates Later‐Life Thermal Tolerance

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study investigates how early‐life thermal environments affect later thermal tolerance in the black‐lip pearl oyster, Pinctada margaritifera. Developmental thermal priming had contrasting, family‐specific effects on thermal tolerance, with conserved stress‐response pathways but evidence of priming‐induced regulatory network reorganization.
