Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Self-feedback image retrieval algorithm based on annular color moments

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2019
Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) extracts visual content features (such as color, texture, and shape) of a sample image to retrieve another similar image. Due to the existence of the semantic gap, retrieval results are often unsatisfactory.

Revisiting Relevance Feedback for CLIP-based Interactive Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Many image retrieval studies use metric learning to train an image encoder. However, metric learning cannot handle differences in users' preferences, and requires data to train an image encoder. To overcome these limitations, we revisit relevance feedback, a classic technique for interactive retrieval systems, and propose an interactive CLIP-based ...

CONTENT BASED IMAGE RETRIEVAL (CBIR) SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Advancement in hardware and telecommunication technology has boosted up creation and distribution of digital visual content. However this rapid growth of visual content creations has not been matched by the simultaneous emergence of technologies to ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Content-Based Image Retrieval for Multiple Objects Search

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2017
The progress of image search engines still proceeds, but there are some challenges yet in complex queries. In this paper, we present a new semantic image search system, which is capable of multiple object retrieval using only visual content of the images.

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...
