Retrieval of Multimedia Information Using Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) Techniques
2017This chapter will focus on the concept of Content-based image retrieval. Searching of an image or video database based on text based description is a manual labor intensive process. Descriptions of the file are usually typed manually for each image by human operators because the automatic generation of keywords for the images is difficult without ...

Impact of feature selection on the performance of content-based image retrieval (CBIR)
2014 4th International Symposium ISKO-Maghreb: Concepts and Tools for knowledge Management (ISKO-Maghreb), 2014CBIR is based on indexation of signatures that capture aspects of the image. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to weight the contribution of these signatures in the calculation of the final similarity between the query and the database images. This approach personalizes the search for each given query.

An effective content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system based on evolutionary programming (EP)
2012 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Communication Control and Computing Technologies (ICACCCT), 2012This paper introduces a content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) based on evolutionary algorithm. Initially, the shape, color and texture feature is extracted for the given query image and also for the of the database images in a similar manner. Subsequently, similar images are retrieved utilizing an evolutionary algorithm based similarity.
