Content Classification for Caching under CDNs

2007 Innovations in Information Technologies (IIT), 2007
Content delivery networks (CDNs) provide an efficient support for serving "resource-hungry" applications while minimizing the network impact of content delivery as well as shifting the traffic away from overloaded origin servers. However, their performance gain is limited since the storage space in CDN's servers is not used optimally.

Popularity-Based Content Cache Management for in-Network Caching

2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN), 2019
In-network caching is a technique that stores contents in caches of routers, and thus reduces the loads for content servers and networks. To further enhance the performance of in-network caching, this paper proposes a popularity-based content cache management method.

Content-based hierarchical Web cache

2006 International Conference on Computing & Informatics, 2006
Web caches are deployed in order to quickly deliver the required information to user by placing data in proximity to users. Hierarchical Web caches are scalable, fault tolerant and enhance the degree of sharing. Typically data is either cached at each level or the most wanted data is cached at the leaf levels in the hierarchy.

Distributed Caching Algorithms for Content Distribution Networks

2010 Proceedings IEEE INFOCOM, 2010
The delivery of video content is expected to gain huge momentum, fueled by the popularity of user-generated clips, growth of VoD libraries, and wide-spread deployment of IPTV services with features such as CatchUp/PauseLive TV and NPVR capabilities. The `time-shifted' nature of these personalized applications defies the broadcast paradigm underlying ...

Content discovery and caching in mobile networks

21st Annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2010
We consider content discovery in wireless networks with infrastructure, where mobile nodes store, advertise and consume contents while Broker entities running on infrastructure devices let demand and offer meet. We refer to this paradigm as match-making, highlighting its features within the confines of the standard publish-and-subscribe paradigm.

Local Content Cloud based Cooperative Caching Placement for Edge Caching

2019 IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2019
Edge caching can improve the efficiency of content delivery by making full use of the limited storage capacity. Exploiting cooperation between base stations (BSs) could promote the diversity of contents in the whole network and alleviate backhaul traffic. However, prior works mostly overlook the effect of cooperation during caching placement period. In

Distributed cache management considering content popularity for in-network caching

2017 23rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2017
This paper proposes a new cache management method considering the popularity of contents for in-network caching. In networks with in-network caching, routers store contents in their cache and users can download them from the routers. By utilizing cached contents, the loads for content servers and networks can be reduced.

Optimal Caching with Content Broadcast in Cache-and-Forward Networks

2011 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2011
With the rapid advance in the technology area of data storage, storage capacities have increased substantially while the price has been dropping fast. Motivated by this trend, it has been proposed in the Cache-and-Forward architecture that storage is incorporated into each intermediate CNF router.

Tube caching: An effective caching scheme in Content-Centric Networking

2016 IEEE/ACM 24th International Symposium on Quality of Service (IWQoS), 2016
We investigated the cache allocation and replacement problems in CCN within a single ISP and propose the scheme called Tube Caching that can dynamically distribute contents across the forwarding paths based on the energy-related benefit. Through the preliminary evaluations, Tube Caching has been proven to be effective.
