Popularity prediction–based caching in content delivery networks

Annals of Telecommunications, 2019
In content delivery networks (CDNs), caches are resources that must be allocated. For that purpose, videos’ popularity knowledge helps to make efficient decisions about which videos should be cached. Thus, we must be able to anticipate future needs in terms of requested videos. To do this, we rely on the requests history.

Caching algorithm for content-oriented networks using prediction of popularity of contents

2015 IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM), 2015
It is important to use cache efficiently for the content deployment in the aspect of reducing load of server and latency, especially in content-oriented networks such as ICN (Information Centric Networking). Since the capacity of cache on each network node is limited, numbers of cache replacement algorithm have been proposed.

Predicting popularity dynamics of online contents using data filtering methods

2016 54th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2016
This paper proposes a new prediction process to explain and predicts popularity evolution of YouTube videos. We exploit prior study on the classification of YouTube videos in order to predict the evolution of videos' view-count. This classification allows to identify important factors of the observed popularity dynamics.
