The Role of Fluorine‐Functionalized Organic Spacers for Defect Passivation and Low‐Dimensional Phase Formation in 3D MAPI Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorine‐functionalized organic spacers (2F, 3F, 5F) are investigated to identify as optimal passivation agents for 3D MAPI perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The study highlights how altering fluorine positioning affects defect passivation, low‐dimensional phase (LDP) formation, and stability, emphasizing its role in molecular interactions and offering ...

Code-Expanded Random Access for Machine-Type Communications

open access: yes, 2012
The random access methods used for support of machine-type communications (MTC) in current cellular standards are derivatives of traditional framed slotted ALOHA and therefore do not support high user loads efficiently.

Hyperbranched Interpenetrating Hydrogen Bond Network (HIHBN) Proton Exchange Membrane for Fuel Cells Above 220 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel polymer electrolyte membrane with a hyperbranched interpenetrating hydrogen bond network structure is developed. The unique structure of the hyperbranched polymer contributes to a high glass transition temperature exceeding 400 °C, enabling its operation at elevated temperatures for fuel cell applications.

Learning and the diffusion of regime contention in the Arab Spring

open access: yesResearch & Politics, 2015
The Arab Spring has become a prominent example of the spread of cross-national regime contention. It is widely accepted that successful regime contention (in Tunisia and Egypt) triggered protests in other countries. Both scholars and other observers have

Providing Local Content in a Hybrid Single Frequency Network using Hierarchical Modulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Broadcasting vol. 56, no. 4, 2010, pp. 532-540, 2013
A hierarchical modulation method is proposed for providing local content in a hybrid satellite and terrestrial single frequency network such DVB-SH. The hierarchical modulation is used to transmit both global and local content in terrestrial transmitters. The global content is transmitted with high priority layer of the hierarchical modulation, and the

Using Recycled Materials in a Novel Dual Binder System for Hard Carbon Anodes: Closing the Loop Toward Sustainable Li‐/Na‐ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study explores for the first time the use of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), particularly recycled PVB, as a sustainable binder for Li/Na‐based electrodes in the framework of the H2020 SUNRISE EU project. Findings revealed that electrodes bound with a sustainable PAA/PVB mixture demonstrated exceptional rate capability and high initial Coulombic ...

Explaining Political Violence Against Civilians in Northern Ireland: A Contention-Oriented Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In contrast to prevalent theories of terrorism, this study develops a contention-oriented approach where levels and forms of political violence against civilians depend upon: (1) the strategies of combatants; (2) the means of contention; (3) the ...

Dynamic Networks via Polymerizable Deep Eutectic Monomers for Uniform Li+ Transport at Interfaces in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The PDEM‐based SIGPE provides a dynamic nanophase from Li+‐bridged molecular self‐association, enhancing electrochemical stability and facilitating uniform Li+ ion flux at the interface. This unique solvation structure results in a hetero species‐driven inorganic‐rich SEI and long‐term cycle stability, suggesting that a PFAS‐free Li+‐containing monomer

A NOVEL HYBRID SCHEME FOR CONTENTION MINIMIZATION IN OPTICAL BURST SWITCHED NETWORK [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Communication Technology, 2015
In Optical Burst Switched (OBS) Networks, data is transported in a bufferless network and hence there is fair amount of possibility of contention among the data bursts. This occurs when multiple bursts contend for the same link.
