Abstract Hidden Markov Models: a monadic account of quantitative information flow
Hidden Markov Models, HMM's, are mathematical models of Markov processes with state that is hidden, but from which information can leak. They are typically represented as 3-way joint-probability distributions.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Evaluating Opportunities for Transit Signal Priority in Southern New Jersey [PDF]
This study examines traffic signal and surface transit routes in Mercer, Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties and develops a method of scoring corridors on their likelihood for successful and cost-effective TSP and related signals investments.

Large Outgoing Solutions to Supercritical Wave Equations
We prove the existence of global solutions to the energy-supercritical wave equation in R^{3+1} u_{tt}-\Delta u + |u|^N u = 0, u(0) = u_0, u_t(0) = u_1 ...

Columnaris disease in fish: a review with emphasis on bacterium-host interactions [PDF]
Flavobacterium columnare (F. columnare) is the causative agent of columnaris disease. This bacterium affects both cultured and wild freshwater fish including many susceptible commercially important fish species. F. columnare infections may result in skin

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Persons, Virtual Persons, and Radical Interpretation [PDF]
A dramatic problem facing the concept of the self is whether there is anything to make sense of. Despite the speculative view that there is an essential role for the perceiver in measurement, a physicalist view of reality currently seems to be ruling ...

We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Surface tension in the dilute Ising model. The Wulff construction
We study the surface tension and the phenomenon of phase coexistence for the Ising model on $\mathbbm{Z}^d$ ($d \geqslant 2$) with ferromagnetic but random couplings.

Classification of positive solutions of heat equation with supercritical absorption [PDF]
Let $q\geq 1+\frac{2}{N}$. We prove that any positive solution of (E) $\prt_t u-\xD u+u^q=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^N\times(0,\infty)$ admits an initial trace which is a nonnegative Borel measure, outer regular with respect to the fine topology associated to the
