Fast multiplerun_beforedecoding method for efficient implementation of an H.264/advanced video coding context-adaptive variable length coding decoder [PDF]
We propose a fast new multiple run_before decoding method in context-adaptive variable length coding (CAVLC). The transform coeffi- cients are coded using CAVLC, in which the run_before symbols are gen- erated for a 4 × 4 block input. To speed up the CAVLC decoding, the run_before symbols need to be decoded in parallel. We implemented a new CAVLC table

Model for Estimation of Bounds in Digital Coding of Seabed Images [PDF]
This paper proposes the novel model for estimation of bounds in digital coding of images. Entropy coding of images is exploited to measure the useful information content of the data.

About adaptive coding on countable alphabets [PDF]
This paper sheds light on universal coding with respect to classes of memoryless sources over a countable alphabet defined by an envelope function with finite and non-decreasing hazard rate. We prove that the auto-censuring AC code introduced by Bontemps

Speaker Normalization Using Cortical Strip Maps: A Neural Model for Steady State Vowel Identification [PDF]
Auditory signals of speech are speaker-dependent, but representations of language meaning are speaker-independent. Such a transformation enables speech to be understood from different speakers.
