The International Comparison of the Educational Systems of Iran, Myanmar and Ethiopia

open access: yesCentral European Journal of Educational Research, 2023
Education systems usually fall into two main types: the Continental and Atlantic systems of education. Countries belonging to the third world often follow after the characteristics of the continental system, however, the specificities of the country may

Provenance history of a Late Triassic-Jurassic Gondwana margin forearc basin, Murihiku Terrane, North Island, New Zealand: petrographic and geochemical constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Murihiku Terrane in the North Island was a forearc basin adjacent to a volcanic arc along the eastern margin of Gondwana during the Mesozoic. The rocks that infill the basin are mainly volcaniclastic sandstones and mudstones, often turbiditic, with ...

Cross-Continental Comparisons: Africa and Asia

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2005
The research in the Western Hemisphere reported in this book has allowed for a co- hesive program with a focus on forest ecosystems and has produced a sizable body of findings on human-environment interactions in forests in the Americas. Africa and Asia present different sets of challenges to understanding how human societies interact with forest ...

A Comparison of Radiocarbon and U/Th Ages on Continental Carbonates [PDF]

open access: yesRadiocarbon, 1992
Authigenic micrite from a playa in the northern Sahara has been dated by both the U/Th and 14C methods. The U/Th ages can be a few thousand years greater or less than the 14C ages obtained on the smallest crystals of micrite. The latter are considered to form a reasonable chronology for the Holocene deposits.

Constraining climate sensitivity and continental versus seafloor weathering using an inverse geological carbon cycle model

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
The influence of tectonics, continental weathering, and seafloor weathering in the geological carbon cycle remain unclear. Here, the authors develop a new carbon cycle model and, through comparison with proxy data, critically evaluate the influence of ...

Radial Increment of Beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) Is under a Strong Impact of Climate in the Continental Biogeographical Region of Croatia

open access: yesPlants, 2023
European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) is an important component of forests in the alpine and continental biogeographical regions of Croatia. This study aimed to (1) analyze the long-term response of beech to climate, (2) identify potentially critical ...
