From Materials to Systems: Challenges and Solutions for Fast‐Charge/Discharge Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically analyzes the key characteristics limiting the fast‐charge/discharge capability of Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) from a multi‐scale perspective encompassing electrode materials, the electrode‐electrolyte interface, and the system. Furthermore, it presents practical solution strategies for the fundamental issues arising at each scale,

Cold‐Sublimating Quasi‐Solid Additive Enables High Efficiency and Long Operational Stability Binary Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Cold‐sublimating quasi‐solid mDF acts as an in situ‐removable transient structuring agent that broadens solvent‐removal, accelerates intermediate crystallization, and tightens π–π stacking in PM6:L8‐BO OSCs. Offering residue‐free morphology control, mDF‐treated OSCs enable high efficiency and a markedly extended operational lifetime (T80 = 477 h ...

Design Matters: How Cell Architecture Shapes the Performance, Cost, and Environmental Impact of Battery Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a multidimensional framework integrating electrical performance, cost, and life cycle assessment for 140 real and virtual battery cells. Results show that LFP offers low emissions and costs, sodium‐ion excels in resource efficiency, and pouch housings and higher energy densities effectively reduce environmental burdens.

Dollars for Drops: Abatement Cost of Water for Irrigation in the Colorado River Basin

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Colorado River is a lifeline for more than 40 million people in the western United States. However, with climate change diminishing snowpacks in the Rocky Mountains and increasing demands from agriculture and urban areas, the river's flow has become insufficient to meet all the competing needs.

Copper Contact for Perovskite Solar Cells: Properties, Interfaces, and Scalable Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Copper electrodes, as low‐cost, scalable contacts for perovskite solar cells, offer several advantages over precious metals such as Au and Ag, including performance, cost, deposition methods, and interfacial engineering. Copper (Cu) electrodes are increasingly considered practical, sustainable alternatives to noble‐metal contacts in perovskite solar ...
