Satisfying customers using total quality management: the mediating role of control systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The premise of this paper is that Total Quality Management (TQM) must be adopted as a way of life for employees and not just as a slogan per se, so that the intended goal of implementing TQM can be fully realised.

Decoding Triphenotypic Neutrophils in Cervical Cancer Evolution and Targeting SPP1+/GBP1+/ELOVL5+ Tumor‐Associated Neutrophils to Sensitize Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functional schematic diagram of tumor associated neutrophils. Abstract Enhancing cervical cancer (CC) immunotherapy requires deciphering the heterogeneous tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), particularly neutrophil phenotypic dynamics. Here, 1) we collected 543 CC cases to find that patients with elevated neutrophil levels have a higher incidence

A historical contingency hypothesis for population ecology

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution
Assessments of historical contingency have advanced our understanding of adaptive radiation and community ecology, but little attention has been given to assessing the importance of historical contingency in population ecology.

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...

GENERATION RESCHEDULING FOR ALLEVIATING OVER LOADS CAUSED BY CONTINGENC

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2003
Contingency analysis is a valuable tool for a reliable planning and secure operation of a power system. Centingency analysis techniques must consider the impact of voltage effects as well as line flow effects.

Bifidobacterium Breve Yang08 Alleviates Atopic Dermatitis By Enriching Akkermansia Muciniphila and Inhibiting Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation In Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel Bifidobacterium breve strain, Yang08, is isolated to counter its depletion in atopic dermatitis. In mice, live Yang08 requires an intact gut microbiota to exert protection, specifically enriching Akkermansia muciniphila and potently inhibiting pathogenic neutrophil activation and NETosis in the skin.

Contingent identity and counterpart theory* [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Perspectives, 2016
This paper argues that counterpart-theoretic accounts of modality that allow for many-one counterpart relations, and thereby make room for contingent identities, are not able to preserve the transitivity of identity. It will be shown that the translation scheme of counterpart theorists breaks down and that they have to abandon the claim that objects ...

When corporate social responsibility matters: An empirical investigation of contingencies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Rather than re-examine the question of whether doing good generally helps a company to do well, this study draws on contingency theory to empirically examine when doing good helps a company do as well as possible. Using panel data, we examine the effects
