Short and Length‐Independent Group Delay Supported by Topological Edge States in Finite‐Size Su–Schrieffer–Heeger Chains

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates short, length‐independent group delay supported by topological edge states in open Su–Schrieffer–Heeger networks. Strong boundary port coupling enables an order‐of‐magnitude latency reduction compared to bulk modes, alongside robust protection against bulk disorder.

High‐Density Magnetomyography With Optical Magnetometers Reveals Spatiotemporal Patterns of Evoked Muscle Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Optically pumped magnetometers are employed to contactlessly map the spatiotemporal dynamics of the magnetic field linked to electrical activity of a skeletal muscle in vivo. It is demonstrated that localization of the clinically relevant innervation zone is feasible using this non‐invasive magnetic measurement modality. ABSTRACT Magnetomyography (MMG)

Single‐Step Fabrication of Smart 3D Microstructures Exploiting Naphthopyrans as Photoinitiators and Photochromic Molecules

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Naphthopyran–benzophenone compounds can act simultaneously as photoinitiators and photochromic molecules for two‐photon polymerization. Using a single‐step process, liquid photoresist is encapsulated within polymerized 3D microstructures, preserving reversible UV–vis photochromism after fabrication.

Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Hyperuniform Disorder in Photonic Crystal Slabs With Intrinsic Non‐Hermiticity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Light propagation in photonic crystal slabs with imposed hyperuniform disorder is investigated theoretically and numerically. The hyperuniform disorder is imposed by varying the hole size. The photonic crystal is intrinsically non‐Hermitian due to radiative loss, with non‐Hermiticity appearing as a complex effective mass of a quadratic photonic band ...

Transparent Single‐Dye NIR Photonic Platform for Multimodal Optical Authentication

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐component DHP‐SQ dye integrates visible transparency, near‐infrared (NIR) fluorescence, and photothermal functionality into one molecular platform. NIR‐selective visualization transforms visually imperceptible printed patterns into readily authenticated information, while screen‐printing compatibility enables well‐defined patterning on diverse

Single‐Photon Emitters in Thickness‐Controlled hBN Directly Grown on Silicon Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Direct, catalyst‐free CVD growth produces thickness‐controlled hBN films on SiO2/Si without transfer. Growth temperature, film thickness, and carbon incorporation tune the density and single‐photon fraction of defect emitters while preserving the hBN lattice structure.
