Fractional Orbital Angular Momentum Sorting Using Wind Spiral Transformation

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 8, 24 April 2026.
A wind‐spiral coordinate transformation enables mode sorting of fractional‐order orbital angular momentum (OAM) states, overcoming the limited channel count of conventional integer only sorters. Fractional OAM is mapped into a controlled superposition of integer modes, producing distinctive multi‐peak signatures for discrimination.

Risk Times in Mission‐Oriented Systems

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, Volume 42, Issue 3, Page 1380-1398, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This article assesses risk times in mission‐oriented systems with high safety standards. We examine critical times under two safety policies. The first requires that the system's reliability function, known the first failure of the components, must exceed a reliability level throughout the mission.

Archimedean Survival Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Archimedean copulas are popular in the world of multivariate modelling as a result of their breadth, tractability, and flexibility. A. J. McNeil and J.

Moments of L$L$‐functions via a relative trace formula

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 132, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract We prove an asymptotic formula for the second moment of the GL(n)×GL(n−1)$\mathrm{GL}(n)\times \mathrm{GL}(n-1)$ Rankin–Selberg central L$L$‐values L(1/2,Π⊗π)$L(1/2,\Pi \otimes \pi)$, where π$\pi$ is a fixed cuspidal representation of GL(n−1)$\mathrm{GL}(n-1)$ that is tempered and unramified at every place, while Π$\Pi$ varies over a family of

Patterning the Void: Combining L‐Systems with Archimedean Tessellations as a Perspective for Tissue Engineering Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 23, 19 March 2026.
This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

Numerical and Experimental Study of Mixing Characteristics in a Spiral Micromixer

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 21, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT Significant enhancement of mixing performance can be achieved by Dean vortices in spiral channels. In order to deeply explore the mixing mechanisms and variation laws in spiral micromixers, this work designed a spiral micromixer and adopted a combined method of experiments and numerical simulations to analyze the mixing performance and ...

Subuniformity of harmonic mean p$$ p $$‐values

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, Volume 54, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract We obtain several inequalities on the generalized means of dependent p$$ p $$‐values. In particular, the weighted harmonic mean of p$$ p $$‐values is strictly subuniform under several dependence assumptions of p$$ p $$‐values, including independence, negative upper orthant dependence, the class of extremal mixture copulas, and some Clayton ...

Joint distribution of Hecke eigenforms on H3$ \mathbb {H}^3$

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 661-674, March 2026.
Abstract We prove a joint value equidistribution statement for Hecke–Maaß cusp forms on the hyperbolic three‐space H3$\mathbb {H}^3$. This supports the conjectural statistical independence of orthogonal cusp forms.

On approximating copulas by finite mixtures

open access: yes, 2018
Copulas are now frequently used to approximate or estimate multivariate distributions because of their ability to take into account the multivariate dependence of the variables while controlling the approximation properties of the marginal densities ...

On the resolution and linear optimization problems subject to a system of bipolar fuzzy relational equalities defined with continuous Archimedean t-norms

open access: yes
This paper considers the linear objective function optimization with respect to a more general class of bipolar fuzzy relational equations, where the fuzzy compositions are defined by an arbitrary continuous Archimedean t-norm. In addition, a faster method for finding a global optimum is proposed.
