Analysis of dynamic coefficients for damage to the middle support of two-span and three-span continuous beams

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The paper deals with the operation of continuous two- and three-span beams with damage to the middle support. For a two-span continuous beam, the dynamic coefficients for the action of concentrated forces over the middle support and span of the beam are ...

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Study on the Seismic Performance of Different Combinations of Rubber Bearings for Continuous Beam Bridges

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Rubber isolation bearings have been proven to be effective in reducing the seismic damage of bridges. Due to the different characteristics of isolation bearings, the mechanical properties of bridges with different combinations of rubber bearings are ...

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Influence of Movable Bearing Friction Resistance on CWR of Subway Continuous Beam Bridge

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] When continuous beams are employed in subway bridges, frictional resistance exists at the movable bearings, which may affect the force and deformation of the continuous welded rail (CWR) on the bridge.

Reducing Surface Cracks and Improving Cleanliness of H-Beam Blanks in Continuous Casting — Improving continuous casting of H-beam blanks

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2019
A beam blank is ideal for H-beam production, but there are more defects in/on beam blanks than other common blanks. The study of the H-beam blank quality assurance system has great significance for production to determine the key factors causing defects ...
