Noise‐Limited Bit Precision in Ferroelectric Synaptic Transistors for High‐Resolution Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐frequency noise spectroscopy defines the resolvable conductance states of synaptic FeFETs by coupling read‐current fluctuation with usable dynamic range. The resulting noise‐limited bit precision establishes a universal, device‐agnostic reliability metric beyond the memory window, enabling quantitative benchmarking and rational design of high ...

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed

Innovative cleaning system with movable cavitation nozzle based on the hunting behaviour of the pistol shrimp

open access: yes
475484Submersion-based cleaning methods such as ultrasonic cleaning and pressure flooding are frequently used in industrial cleaning processes. Nevertheless, these approaches exhibit limitations in effectively cleaning difficult-to-reach areas, including

Data cleaning for classification using misclassification analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In most classification problems, sometimes in order to achieve better results, data cleaning is used as a preprocessing technique. The purpose of data cleaning is to remove noise, inconsistent data and errors in the training data.

Dynamically Actuated Reconfigurable Topographical Surface Enables Active Control of Implant‐Associated Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dynamically actuated reconfigurable topographical surface (DARTS) integrates contact‐mediated bactericidal nanotopography with programmable mechanical actuation to actively disrupt bacterial biofilms. Dynamic surface reconfiguration enhances bacterial killing and suppresses implant‐associated infections in vivo, providing a new strategy for active ...

Cleaning stations in a changing ocean : Bio-ecological responses of cleaning mutualisms to ocean warming and acidification

open access: yes, 2020
As simbioses entre espécies representam adaptações face a mudanças ambientais no meio marinho. Uma das simbioses mais carismáticas é o mutualismo entre peixes limpadores e os seus clientes.

Bacterial Cellulose‐Based Bilayer Passive Cooler for High‐Performance Radiative/Evaporative Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sustainable bilayer passive cooler based on bacterial cellulose integrates radiative and evaporative cooling for efficient zero‐energy temperature reduction. The scalable, low‐carbon material shows strong potential for food preservation, low‐temperature storage, and cold‐chain logistics.

Towards Continuous Improvement: Evolution, Drivers and Performance. Results of the 2nd International Continuous Improvement Survey

open access: yes, 2005
Today there is a plenty of literature on Continuous Innovation: CI started ages ago, first in the USA, then in Japan. Notwithstanding this fact, little is known about Continuous Innovation in other continents: more exactly little is known about ...

Functional Differentiation of Type II and Type I Collagen Articular Models in Synovial Fluid Film Formation and Recombinant Equine Lubricin Retention

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Collagen II coatings support the formation of synovial fluid nanofilms, while collagen I coatings do not. Both bind recombinant equine lubricin similarly. These findings may help explain articular cartilage surface joint dysfunction, inform biomaterial design for synovial joint repair, and expand on lubricin‐based osteoarthritis therapies.
