Depolymerization of clean unfilled PTFE waste in a continuous process

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2006
AbstractA continuous process is described whereby waste PTFE was converted into tetrafluoroethylene (C2F4, TFE), hexafluoroethane (C2F6, HFE), hexafluoropropylene (C3F6, HFP), and octafluorocyclobutane (c‐C4F8, OFCB). The waste PTFE was depolymerized inside a reactor that was heated by a radiofrequency induction generator.

Auto-line filter: self-cleaning, continuous filtration system

Filtration & Separation, 2002
Abstract More end users are looking to invest in new liquid filtration processes to help improve product quality, reduce waste disposal and increase work safety. But all this needs to be achieved at an economic price. Sparkler Filters International, The Netherlands, thinks it has the answer.

Cyclic Production and Cleaning Scheduling of Multiproduct Continuous Plants

2002
The objective of this paper is to extend previous scheduling models (Pinto and Grossmann, 1994; Alle and Pinto, 2001) based on continuous time representation to include cleaning considerations. The proposed mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) model aims at simultaneously scheduling production and cleaning tasks of multiproduct multistage ...

Variations in steel cleanness during transient continuous casting practices

Materials Science and Technology, 2005
AbstractDuring sequenced continuous casting, concerns have been expressed about the density of nonmetallic inclusions present in steel slab produced during the transition period as successive ladles are teemed. Consequently, for critical applications such as thin wall tinplate products, with can wall thicknesses of ∼0.26 mm, only steel cast during ...

Cleaning the Periodicity in Discrete- and Continuous-Time Nonlinear Dynamical Systems

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2014
We investigate periodicity suppression in two-dimensional parameter-spaces of discrete- and continuous-time nonlinear dynamical systems, modeled respectively by a two-dimensional map and a set of three first-order ordinary differential equations. We show for both cases that, by varying the amplitude of an external periodic forcing with a fixed angular

Secondary metallurgy and continuous casting practice for clean steel production

Revue de Métallurgie, 1995
The industrial procedure for the production of clean steel by tank degassing will be explained. During this kind of secondary metallurgy, a simultaneous degassing as well as metal-slag reaction occurs. During continuous casting process, a reoxidation and resulphurisation must be prevented.
