Long‐Term Monitoring of ApoE4 within Aqueous Humor Using Intraocular Lenses Containing Target‐Responsive Inverse Opal Hydrogel

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 5, Issue 12, December 2024.
A long‐term monitoring system for Alzheimer's disease is developed using fluorescently labeled inverse opal hydrogel with an intraocular lens. The permeability and inherent photonic properties of inverse opal hydrogel facilitate the cumulative enhancement of the fluorescence signal.

Evaluating keratometry and corneal astigmatism data from biometers and anterior segment tomographers and mapping to reconstructed corneal astigmatism

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 52, Issue 6, Page 627-638, August 2024.
Abstract Background To compare results from different corneal astigmatism measurement instruments; to reconstruct corneal astigmatism from the postimplantation spectacle refraction and toric intraocular lens (IOL) power; and to derive models for mapping measured corneal astigmatism to reconstructed corneal astigmatism.

A new strategy to calculate the intraocular lens power in congenital cataracts according to age and axial length at implantation

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 102, Issue 4, Page e595-e601, June 2024.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of the study was to suggest a new method to calculate the intraocular lens (IOL) power in paediatric cataracts targeting emmetropia at the age of 15 years. Methods Data of children younger than 15 years who underwent cataract surgery with IOL implantation between 2005 and 2020 in the ophthalmological department of Marseille

Different strokes for anterior capsulorhexis in pediatric cataract

open access: yes, 2023
Background: A successful outcome in pediatric cataract surgery is determined by an intact, curvilinear anterior capsulotomy which is dependent on the type and density of cataract, the morphology of the anterior capsule, and associated anterior segment ...

Dimension reduction for linear separation with curvilinear distances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Any high dimensional data in its original raw form may contain obviously classifiable clusters which are difficult to identify given the high-dimension representation.

Capsulorhexis rescue after peripheral radial tear-out: Quick-pull technique

open access: yes, 2012
We describe a technique to rescue the continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC) in cases in which complete radial tears make it impossible to use normal traction forceps. A circumferential path and rapid movement are applied in the plane of the anterior

Measurement of tear resistance after manual capsulorhexis and femtosecond laser–assisted capsulotomy of crystalline lenses

open access: yes, 2021
Background!#!In this study, the tear resistance of porcine lens capsules after continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC) and femtosecond (fs)-laser-assisted capsulotomy for cataract surgery (FLC) with different laser parameters is measured with a custom-

Indocyanine Green-assisted Phacoemulsification in Cases of Complicated or Simple Advanced Cataracts

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2008
During phacoemulsification for advanced cataracts, particularly when complicated by anterior segment abnormalities, capsulorhexis is very difficult and carries a high risk of complications.

Optical coherence tomography and 3-dimensional confocal structured imaging system-guided femtosecond laser capsulotomy versus manual continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis.

open access: yes, 2014
PURPOSE: To compare the features of capsulotomy obtained during femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery with those of continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC) obtained using a standard manual technique.
