Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Continuous Integration, Choreographically

open access: yesTechnical Report, 2019
Continuous Integration (CI) is a widely used software development methodology advocating for the immediate integration of changes to code builds. One solution to the development bottlenecks resulting from frequent builds induced by the methodology is to use parallel/distributed workflows.

Identifying Key Success Factors in Stopping Flaky Tests in Automated REST Service Testing

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2018
A flaky test is a test which could fail or pass for the same version of a certain software code. In continuous software development environments, flaky tests represent a problem.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Experiences Virtualizing a Large-Scale Test Platform for Multimedia Applications

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Scalable Information Systems, 2015
Testing is an essential part of software development and many test platforms exist to facilitate the process. Test systems are scarce, because especially scalability tests require many computational resources. In this paper we show that these limitations

Continuous area spectrum in regular black hole

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate highly damped quasinormal modes of regular black hole coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics. Using the WKB approximation combined with complex-integration technique, we show that the real part of the frequency disappears in the highly ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
