Continuous Biocatalytic Processes
Organic Process Research & Development, 2009In this review article, recently developed continuous biotransformation processes are discussed. The processes are used to carry out resolution, redox reactions, hydrolysis/esterification, C−C bond formation, and other reactions. Examples of continuous downstream processing are also included.

Continuous-Time Stochastic Processes
1987Applications of continuous-time stochastic processes to economic modelling are largely focused on the areas of capital theory and financial markets: In these applications as in mathematics generally, the most widely studied continuous time process is a Brownian motion — so named for its early application as a model of the seemingly random movements of ...

CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Information Systems Management, 1994Abstract Even in corporations that have made great strides in implementing total quality management, IS departments have not always kept pace. This column, the first in a series to address issues of quality management in the IS department, discusses how the principles of TQM can be modified and successfully applied to information systems.

Continuous Time Branching Processes
2014We introduce continuous time branching processes. The main difference between discrete and continuous branching processes is that births and deaths occur at random times for continuous time processes. Continuous time branching processes have the Markov property if (and only if) birth and death times are exponentially distributed.

Multimode Continuous Processes
2020This chapter presents the characteristics and definitions for multimode continuous processes. It is discussed why they require specific monitoring approaches for achieving good fault sensitivity and low false alarm rate. The features of a multimode continuous process are formalized mathematically from a data-driven point of view.

Continuous alkoxylation process
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1971AbstractA continuous process for the ethoxylation and propoxylation of fatty alcohols, alkyl phenols and fatty acids, based on the flow principle, is described. The short‐time process developed on a pilot‐plant scale leads to a high space‐time yield in the presence of alkaline catalysts with complete conversion of the alkylene oxides at extremely short

In this chapter, we will give definitions, set up notations that will be used in the rest of the book and give some basic results. While some proofs are included, several results are stated without proof. The proofs of these results can be found in standard books on stochastic processes.
