Spacetime replication of continuous variable quantum information

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
The theory of relativity requires that no information travel faster than light, whereas the unitarity of quantum mechanics ensures that quantum information cannot be cloned.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

A Unified Method for Detecting Phylogenetic Signals in Continuous, Discrete, and Multiple Trait Combinations

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Phylogenetic signals are widely used in ecological and evolutionary studies. Trait data used to detect phylogenetic signals can be continuous or discrete, but existing indices are designed for either type, not both.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Entanglement rate for Gaussian continuous variable beams

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We derive a general expression that quantifies the total entanglement production rate in continuous variable systems, where a source emits two entangled Gaussian beams with arbitrary correlators.

Continuous-variable quantum probes for structured environments

open access: yes, 2017
We address parameter estimation for complex/structured systems and suggest an effective estimation scheme based on continuous-variables quantum probes.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Continuous-variable quantum teleportation through lossy channels

open access: yes, 2001
The ultimate limits of continuous-variable single-mode quantum teleportation due to absorption are studied, with special emphasis on (quasi-)monochromatic optical fields propagating through fibers. It is shown that even if an infinitely squeezed two-mode

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Bipartite Entanglement in Continuous-Variable Cluster States

open access: yes, 2010
We present a study of the entanglement properties of Gaussian cluster states, proposed as a universal resource for continuous-variable quantum computing.
