Continuous-variable multipartite unlockable bound entangled Gaussian states

open access: yes, 2011
Continuous-variable (CV) multipartite unlockable bound-entangled states is investigated in this paper. Comparing with the qubit multipartite unlockable bound-entangled states, CV multipartite unlockable bound-entangled states present the new and ...

The associations of uric acid, cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
AIMS: To investigate whether uric acid (UA) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular (CV) and all-cause mortality in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients after controlling for recognized CV risk factors.

Bell inequalities for Continuous-Variable Measurements

open access: yes, 2010
Tests of local hidden variable theories using measurements with continuous variable (CV) outcomes are developed, and a comparison of different methods is presented. As examples, we focus on multipartite entangled GHZ and cluster states.

Enhancing Performance of Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution (CV-QKD) and Gaussian Modulation of Coherent States (GMCS) in Free-Space Channels under Individual Attacks with Phase-Sensitive Amplifier (PSA) and Homodyne Detection (HD)

open access: yesSensors
In recent research, there has been a significant focus on establishing robust quantum cryptography using the continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) protocol based on Gaussian modulation of coherent states (GMCS). Unlike more stable fiber channels, one challenge faced in free-space quantum channels is the complex transmittance ...

Continuous variable entanglement of phase locked light beams

open access: yes, 2004
We explore in detail the possibility of intracavity generation of continuous-variable (CV) entangled states of light beams under mode phase-locked conditions.

Teleportation of continuous variable polarisation states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper discusses methods for the optical teleportation of continuous variable polarisation states. We show that using two pairs of entangled beams, generated using four squeezed beams, perfect teleportation of optical polarisation states can be ...

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

Long-distance continuous-variable measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution with postselection

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We introduce a robust scheme for long-distance continuous-variable (CV) measurement-device-independent (MDI) quantum key distribution in which we employ postselection between distant parties communicating through the medium of an untrusted relay.

Correspondence between continuous variable and discrete quantum systems of arbitrary dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We establish a mapping between a continuous variable (CV) quantum system and a discrete quantum system of arbitrary dimension. This opens up the general possibility to perform any quantum information task with a CV system as if it were a discrete system ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
