Analysis of high velocity impacts of quasibrittle material fragments with a Hopkinson bar [PDF]
In this work it has been characterized the impact behaviour of quasibrittle fragments against a Hopkinson bar in a wide range of impact velocities (70-180 m/s). Hopkinson bar is designed to measure the impact forces thanks to a proper instrumentation. In

Experimental analysis of high velocity impacts of composite fragments on aluminium plates [PDF]
The improvement of engines is one of the ways to diminish the fuel consumption in civil aircrafts, and Open Rotors engines are one of the best promises in order to achieve a sensible efficiency increment.

Feed-Forward Neural Networks for Failure Mechanics Problems
This work addresses an efficient neural network (NN) representation for the phase-field modeling of isotropic brittle fracture. In recent years, data-driven approaches, such as neural networks, have become an active research field in mechanics.

This paper introduces the fundamental continuum theory governing momentum transport in isotropic nanofluidic flows. The theory is an extension to the classical Navier-Stokes equation, which includes coupling between translational and rotational degrees of freedom, as well as non-local response functions that incorporates spatial correlations.

Second-Order Collocation-Based Mixed FEM for Flexoelectric Solids
Flexoelectricity is an electromechanical coupling between the electric field and the mechanical strain gradient, as well as between the mechanical strains and the electric field gradient, observed in all dielectric materials, including those with ...

Cauchy's sum theorem of 1821 has been the subject of rival interpretations ever since Robinson proposed a novel reading in the 1960s. Some claim that Cauchy modified the hypothesis of his theorem in 1853 by introducing uniform convergence, whose traditional formulation requires a pair of independent variables.
