Representations in Continuum Mechanics
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1986In an earlier paper [Acta Mech. 55, 87-93 (1985; Zbl 0573.73055)] the author gave an integral representation for the solution of the field equations of linear elasticity and the Stokesian flow of incompressible fluids over a bounded domain. The present paper provides an extension onto infinite domains that are complementary to bounded domains.

This book offers a broad overview of the potential of continuum mechanics to describe a wide range of macroscopic phenomena in real-world problems. Building on the fundamentals presented in the authors’ previous book, Continuum Mechanics using Mathematica®, this new work explores interesting models of continuum mechanics, with an emphasis on exploring ...
