Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spectra of Local Cluster Flows on Open Chain of Contours

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2018
A dynamical system is considered. This dynamical system is a flow of clusters with the same length $l$ on contours of unit length connected into open chain. A similar system such that contours of this system are connected into closed chain was considered earlier.

Hierarchical Classes Analysis (HICLAS): A novel data reduction method to examine associations between biallelic SNPs and perceptual organization phenotypes in schizophrenia

open access: yesSchizophrenia Research: Cognition, 2015
The power of SNP association studies to detect valid relationships with clinical phenotypes in schizophrenia is largely limited by the number of SNPs selected and non-specificity of phenotypes. To address this, we first assessed performance on two visual

Contour Grouping by Clustering with Multi-feature Similarity Measure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Contour grouping is a key task in computer vision domain. It extracts the meaningful objects information from low-level image features and provides the input for the further processing. There have been many techniques proposed over the decades. As a useful data analysis method in machine learning, clustering is a natural way for doing the grouping task.

Object Tracking Based on Stable Feature Mining Using Intraframe Clustering and Interframe Association

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Extracting stable features to enhance object representation has proved to be very effective in improving the performance of object tracking. To achieve this, mining techniques, such as K-means clustering and data associating, are often adopted.

MULTIDIRECTIONAL BUILDING DETECTION IN AERIAL IMAGES WITHOUT SHAPE TEMPLATES [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2013
The aim of this paper is to exploit orientation information of an urban area for extracting building contours without shape templates. Unlike using shape templates, these given contours describe more variability and reveal the fine details of the ...
