Ocean-current controlled sedimentation: the Lofoten Contourite Drift, Norwegian Sea
Geological Society, London, Memoirs, 2016Sediment deposition from ocean-bottom or contour currents leads to the development of contourite drifts. On the continental slope offshore of Norway, contourite drifts have developed from sediment deposition from the alongslope-flowing Norwegian Current which brings warm and saline water masses into the Norwegian Sea. The present pattern of circulation

The shallow-water contourite drift formation in the Kara Sea
Океанология / OceanologyThe bottom sediments of the upper part of the contourite drift located in a narrow linear depression belonging to the central part of the Kara Sea shelf were studied for the first time. According to the grain size distribution of the sediments, the drift belongs to the muddy contourites.

The role of submarine landslides in the initiation and evolution of moat–drift contourite systems
SedimentologyABSTRACT Moat–drift contourite systems, formed by interaction of alongslope bottom currents with bathymetric features, provide critical insights into palaeoceanographic changes. However, the role of submarine landslides in their initiation and evolution remains poorly understood.
