Unsteady flow condition of contra-rotating small-sized axial fan

Journal of Thermal Science, 2011
Small-sized axial fans are used as air cooler for electric equipments. But there is a strong demand for higher power of fans according to the increase of quantity of heat from electric devices. Therefore, higher rotational speed design is conducted, although, it causes the deterioration of efficiency and the increase of noise.

Design and Internal Flow Analysis of a Ducted Contra-Rotating Axial Flow Fan

Volume 1: Advances in Aerospace Technology, 2014
This paper presents the design procedure of a ducted contra-rotating axial flow fan and investigates the flow behavior inside it using ANSYS CFX-15 flow solver. This study investigates parameters such as pressure ratio, inlet mass flow rate and efficiency in different operating points. This system consists of two rotors with an outer diameter of 434 mm

Impeller Finite Element Analysis of Extractable Explosion-Proof Contra-Rotating Axial Fan for Mine Local Ventilation FBDC

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
To improve the impeller safety and reliability of extractable explosion-proof contra-rotating axial fan for mine local ventilation, Extractable Fan FBDC№9.0/2×30 was taken as the research object, and an approximate three-dimensional finite element computation model was built by using ANSYS software. The stress and displacement were calculated, too.

Flow Studies in Ducted Twin-Rotor Contra-Rotating Axial Flow Fans

Volume 1: Turbomachinery, 1992
The design and testing of a 400 mm diameter contra-rotating fan unit was undertaken to study the flow behavior through the contra-rotating fans, and to find ways and means of improving their design and performance. The performance characteristics of the two-fan unit have shown that large overall stall margins can be achieved.
