Planning postpartum contraception for women with substance use disorders: Utilisation of the birth admission

Background Women with substance use disorders (SUD) use less contraception, and experience higher rates of unintended pregnancy, compared to women without SUD. Contraception is discussed at the six‐week postnatal appointment, which many women with SUD do not attend.

Pre‐operative reference ranges for ROTEM® sigma in patients undergoing cardiac surgery: a secondary analysis of two prospective trial cohorts

Summary Introduction Rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM®) is used widely in cardiac surgery. Reference ranges are derived from healthy volunteers but may not be interchangeable with those from patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Furthermore, sex and age seem to influence rotational thromboelastometry profiles.
