Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Contract text markup language: A regularization method for extracting legal elements towards smart contracts

open access: yes工程科学学报
The importance of smart contracts at the legal level is increasing. However, the contract is written in natural language, and the computers cannot process it directly.

The Place of Contract for Digital Thing in Latvian Contract Law Within the Context of the Consumer Sale Directives 2019

open access: yesLaw: Journal of the University of Latvia, 2021
The article aims to explore the place of contract for digital thing (i.e., a good with digital elements; digital content; and digital service) from the point of view of Latvian contract law considering the recently adopted Consumer Sale Directives 2019 (

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Copyright Enforcement of Non-Copyright Terms: MDY v. Blizzard and Krause v. Titleserv [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The rise of software and software licensing has led to another phenomenon: the attempted enforcement of software licenses through copyright law. Over the last fifteen years, content creators have begun to bring copyright suits against licensees, arguing ...

Operation of a 1-Liter-Volume Gaseous Argon Scintillation Counter

open access: yes, 2009
We have built a gas-phase argon ionization detector to measure small nuclear recoil energies (< 10 keVee). In this paper, we describe the detector response to X-ray and gamma calibration sources, including analysis of pulse shapes, software triggers ...

What drives contract design in strategic alliances? Taking stock and how to proceed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We collect and assess prior empirical evidence on contract design in alliances that has been published since Parkhe’s (1993) seminal study on inter-firm contracts.

What do we measure and how do we elicit it? The case for the use of repertory grid technique in multi-party psychological contract research

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, 2020
The psychological contract is a multi-faceted construct and, with the rise of gig work, increasingly the contract extends beyond the conventional employer-employee relationship to encompass multi-party exchanges.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Building Information Modelling and Standardised Construction Contracts: a Content Analysis of the GC21 Contract

open access: yes, 2015
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is seen as a panacea to many of the ills confronting the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector. In spite of its well documented benefits the widespread integration of BIM into the project lifecycle ...
