Service Delivery in Rural Municipalities: Privatize, Cooperate, or Go It Alone? [PDF]

open access: yes
Choices in production and contracting arrangements for a wide range of services were studied using data from approximately 1,000 small, mostly rural municipalities from Illinois, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.

Remote Activation of Spinal TRPV1 by Magnetic Nanocubes Confers Cardioprotection Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe‐based magnetic nanocubes conjugated with TRPV1 antibodies (FeNCs‐TRPV1) are developed for the specific targeting of TRPV1 channels. Intraspinally injected FeNCs‐TRPV1 induces TRPV1 desensitization in rats exposed to repetitive and transient ACMF.

Trade in services and trade in goods: differences and complementarities [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this paper is double. First, we empirically explore to what extent the determinants of trade in services differs from those of trade in goods and, second, by the use of instrumental variables, we explore for potential complementarities ...

Transient Terahertz Oscillations During Photoinduced Polarization Topology Reconfiguration in Ferroelectric Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Terahertz resonances in crystalline heterostructures could close a spectral gap between conventional electronics and photonics while opening new windows on non‐equilibrium lattice dynamics. Femtosecond optical screening of the depolarization field in epitaxial PbTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices launches a collective polar mode that oscillates near 1 THz and ...

Ultrasoft Yet Tough Multifunctional Organohydrogels Enabled by Molecular Chain Lubrication Strategy for Self‐Powered Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ultrasoft yet tough organohydrogel (AQGL) with 5800% stretchability and 14.3 kPa modulus is developed via a novel molecular chain lubrication strategy. It features optical transparency, drying/freezing (−40°C) tolerance, antibacterial activity, conductivity, self‐healing, and adhesiveness.
