Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Versatile Pneumatic Twisted Coiled Actuators Enabled by Fiber‐Polymer Composite Fabrication
This work reports composite Pneumatic Twisted Coiled Actuators with embedded Kevlar fibers that convert pneumatic or hydraulic pressure into powerful linear motion. A novel precise manufacturing technique is used to systematically explore how design variables influence actuator mechanics and dynamics.

This paper reviews the state of the art and recent advances in magnesium‐based thin‐film, foils, and scaffolds for applications in transient bio‐optics, bioelectronics and tissue engineering. Correlated Metal LaNiO3 as a p‐Type Transparent Conductor
p‐type transparent conducting oxides are needed to enable superstrate solar cell geometries with n‐type absorbers. The p‐type correlated metal LaNiO3 combines high optical transmission with low electrical resistivity and is compatible with a range of scalable deposition processes.
