Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Contract-Based Design of Embedded Systems Integrating Nominal Behavior and Safety

open access: yesComplex Systems Informatics and Modeling Quarterly, 2015
The distributed design process for safety-critical embedded systems has become an increasingly difficult challenge: Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in vehicles, for instance, participate in many vehicle functions, while each vehicle function, in turn, is

Matching ecological transition and food security in the cereal sector: The role of farmers' preferences on production contracts

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, 2023
IntroductionUnder an increasing demand from citizen and public institutions, agri-food supply chains are requested to comply with stringent environmental requirements. Moreover, new sources of uncertainty related to pandemic and geo-political turbulences

Bonus Pools and the Informativeness Principle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Previous work on moral-hazard problems has shown that, under certain conditions, bonus contracts create optimal individual incentives for risk-neutral workers.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

A subset of MMR‐proficient colon cancers responds to neoadjuvant immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tan et al. reveal that a distinct subset of early‐stage pMMR colon cancers can respond to neoadjuvant immunotherapy. In the NICHE‐2 trial, responders (26%) were characterized by chromosomal instability, TP53 mutations, and proliferative cell‐cycle programs, whereas nonresponders showed metabolic and stromal reprogramming with TGF‐β‐driven ...

Tourism law: from traveller to consumer

open access: yesRevista CIDOB d'Afers Internacionals, 2016
The law on tourism – “tourism law” for some authors – is the instrument that has been used to turn the tourist into a consumer. Travellers are increasingly aware of the rights they can exercise.
