Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Can Doppler or contrast-enhanced ultrasound analysis add diagnostically important information about the nature of breast lesions?

open access: yesClinics
OBJECTIVES: Despite evidence suggesting that Doppler ultrasonography can help to differentiate between benign and malignant breast lesions, it is rarely applied in clinical practice.

Recognizing Focal Liver Lesions in Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound with Discriminatively Trained Spatio-Temporal Model

open access: yes, 2015
The aim of this study is to provide an automatic computational framework to assist clinicians in diagnosing Focal Liver Lesions (FLLs) in Contrast-Enhancement Ultrasound (CEUS). We represent FLLs in a CEUS video clip as an ensemble of Region-of-Interests

f‐p‐d Gradient Orbital Coupling Induced Spin State Enhancement of Atomic Fe Sites for Efficient and Stable Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The f‐p‐d (Eu─O─Fe) gradient orbital coupling induces electron delocalization and the introduced f‐band of Eu shifts the spin state of the Fe center in FePc from low‐spin to intermediate‐spin. This strategy simultaneously enhances oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity, reaction kinetics, and stability, resulting in superior ORR performance and ...

A case of strangulated bowel obstruction in which transabdominal ultrasound was useful for preoperative diagnosis

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
A 74-year-old man presented to the emergency department with the chief complaint of abdominal pain. A computed tomography scan showed paralytic ileus. An ileostomy tube was placed, but the symptoms of bowel obstruction did not improve.

Correlation of Pretreatment Polarographically Measured Oxygen Pressures with Quantified Contrast-Enhanced Power Doppler Ultrasonography in Spontaneous Canine Tumors and their Impact on Outcome After Radiation Therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: : To evaluate the use of noninvasive quantified contrast-enhanced power Doppler ultrasonography as a surrogate in the estimation of tumor hypoxia measured by invasive pO2 histography in canine tumors. Material and Methods: : Data of pretreatment
