A Retinal Matrix Stiffening Model Reveals FAK‐Dependent Mechanotransduction in Pericytes Underlies Vascular Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we show that retinal matrix stiffness is increased in diabetic mice. Using engineered human vascular models with controlled matrix stiffness, we demonstrate that stiffening activates focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling in pericytes, suppresses Notch signaling, and disrupts vascular morphology.

Anchored Fluoro‐Shielded Solvation for Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anchored fluoro‐shielded solvation reconstructs PVDF‐based polymer electrolytes by coupling polyanionic Li+‐solvate sites with fluorinated shielding segments. This design organizes anion‐rich solvation networks, strengthens selective Li+ transport, and generates LiF‐rich solid electrolyte interphase, enabling high conductivity, wide oxidative tolerance,

Identifying Anatomical Predictors of Median Arcuate Ligament Overlap to Guide Selective Use of Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography in Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery

open access: yesSpine Surgery and Related Research
Introduction: Acute celiac artery compression syndrome (ACACS) is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication following surgery for adult spinal deformity (ASD); it is caused by compression of the celiac artery (CA) by the median arcuate ...
