Contrast-Enhanced Digital Mammography

Radiologic Clinics of North America, 2014
Mammography is the only technology documented to reduce breast cancer mortality. Its sensitivity, however, is 75% to 80% at best and reduced to 30% to 50% in women with dense breasts. MR imaging is a sensitive modality for the detection of breast cancer but cannot be used in all patients.

Contrast-enhanced MR angiography

Der Radiologe, 1996
Despite many optimizations, the current limitations of plain MR angiography include: saturation that impairs the visualization of veins and arteries with slow flow and spin-dephasing signal voids in locations with turbulent flow. Recently, the use of contrast agents has been proposed to cope with these remaining problems.

Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Ventriculography

Operative Neurosurgery, 2012
During external ventricular drainage (EVD) weaning, cranial computed tomography (cCT) is necessary to evaluate ventricle width. Because intrahospital transfer of critically ill patients is associated with higher mortality, bedside techniques are necessary to evaluate ventricle width.

Contrast-Enhanced Computerized Tomography

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1978
In this issue of theArchives(p 628) Heath et al describe a patient in whom cerebral abscesses were eventually documented by computerized tomography (CT). Using this technique, which has been thoroughly described in the literature, they at first did not diagnose the lesion, then later they did identify at least one abscess after the patient had been ...

Endoscopic Ultrasound: Contrast Enhancement

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America, 2012
The development of ultrasound contrast agents has allowed for the evaluation of vascularity in digestive organs by contrast-enhanced endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). Contrast-enhanced Doppler EUS and contrast-enhanced harmonic EUS (CH-EUS) have improved characterization of pancreatic tumors, lymph nodes, and gastrointestinal submucosal tumors and ...

Clinical evaluation of contrast-enhanced digital mammography and contrast enhanced tomosynthesis—Comparison to contrast-enhanced breast MRI

European Journal of Radiology, 2015
To compare the diagnostic accuracy of contrast-enhanced digital mammography (CEDM) and contrast-enhanced tomosynthesis (CET) to dynamic contrast enhanced breast MRI (DCE-MRI) using a multireader-multicase study.Institutional review board approval and informed consents were obtained.

Enhancement pattern of hilar cholangiocarcinoma: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound versus contrast-enhanced computed tomography

European Journal of Radiology, 2010
To compare the enhancement pattern of hilar cholangiocarcinoma on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) with that on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT).Thirty-two consecutive patients with pathologically proven hilar cholangiocarcinomas were evaluated by both low mechanical index CEUS and CECT.

Comparison of Contrast-Enhanced Mammography and Contrast-Enhanced Breast MR Imaging

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, 2018
Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) is a contrast-enhanced modality for breast cancer detection that utilizes iodinated contrast and dual-energy imaging performed on a digital mammography unit with only slight modifications. It is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, commercially available, and in routine clinical use at centers around the ...

Toboggan contrast enhancement for contrast segmentation

[1990] Proceedings. 10th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2002
Toboggan contrast enhancement is a noniterative single-parameter linear execution time method for selectively augmenting the contrast of multispectral images of arbitrary dimensionality. Toboggan enhancement followed by contrast segmentation is compared with adaptive smoothing, all iterative, multiple parameter, parallel approach that achieves similar ...

Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography.

Casopis lekaru ceskych, 2019
Review summarizes state of the art of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS), pinpoints technical basics and also economical comparison with other imaging methods. Most often indications of CEUS in different anatomical regions with differential diagnosis are discussed.
