EVALUATION OF A NEW CONTRAST MEDIUM FOR HYSTEROSALPINGOGRAPHY
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1946Summury Visco-Rayopake (diethanolamine salt of 2, 4-dioxo-3-iodo-6 methyl tetrahydropyridine acetic acid) a new opaque medium, which was introduced by Rubin in 1941 has been found to be highly satisfactory for x-ray study of the uterine tubes. The outstanding advantage of this substance is due to the fact that it is well tolerated by the tissues and ...

Cardiothoracic CT angiography: current contrast medium delivery strategies.
AJR. American journal of roentgenology, 2011OBJECTIVE Over the last decade, rapid technologic evolution in CT has resulted in improved spatial and temporal resolution and acquisition speed, enabling cardiothoracic CT angiography to become a viable and effective noninvasive alternative in the ...

The physical and pharmacological properties of gadolinium enable its chelates to be used as a contrast medium in digital subtraction angiography. We report the use of gadodiamide, a low-osmolar nonionic gadolinium chelate, for selective angiography in a patient with known sensitivity to iodinated contrast medium.

Contrast Medium-Induced Nephropathy
2009A sudden drop in renal function after exposure to contrast media was first described more than 60 years ago. Contrast medium-induced nephropathy (CIN) is still considered an important acute adverse reaction. Despite both clinical and experimental research, its pathophysiology is still unclear.

A method to evaluate the dose increase in CT with iodinated contrast medium.
Medical Physics (Lancaster), 2010PURPOSE The objective of this study is to develop a method to calculate the relative dose increase when a computerized tomography scan (CT) is carried out after administration of iodinated contrast medium, with respect to the same CT scan in absence of ...

Effect of IV contrast medium on renal function in oncologic patients undergoing CT in ICU.
AJR. American journal of roentgenology, 2010OBJECTIVE The purpose of our study was to assess the effect of IV contrast medium administered at CT on serum creatinine in an oncologic ICU population and to determine which of the variables before CT are most associated with renal function after ...

Incompatibility of Contrast Medium and Trisodium Citrate
CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, 2012To test the compatibility of trisodium citrate, a catheter lock solution, with iodinated contrast medium.Iohexol, iobitridol, iodixanol, ioxaglate, ioxithalamate, iomeprol, and iopromide were tested. In all tests, 2 ml of contrast medium were mixed with 2 ml of trisodium citrate solution.Iodixanol and ioxaglate provoked a highly viscous gluelike ...

WATER-SOLUBLE CONTRAST MEDIUM FOR BRONCHOGRAPHY
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1953WITH THE increased use of segmental and wedge resection in the management of surgical disorders of the lungs and bronchi bronchography has increased in importance and in frequency of application as a diagnostic procedure for the accurate localization of diseased bronchopulmonary tissue.

Radiculography with reduced amounts of contrast medium
Acta Neurochirurgica, 1984Because of the frequency and seriousness of side effects observed after radiculography, due to, among the other things, the amount of contrast medium, the authors describe a method that gives diagnostically satisfactory results using a low dose of contrast and a tangent-beam technique.

An alternative contrast medium for bronchography
Indian Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1989A satisfactory contrast medium for bronchography can be produced by mixing meglumine lothalamate (Conray 280–May & Baker) 20 ml with carboxy methyl cellulose 1.3 gm. Evaluation of its use in over 500 patients shows that it is a safe, simple and satisfactory alternative to propyliodine (Dionosil-Glaxo).
