Spreading pattern of contrast medium in the high thoracic epidural space in rabbits: the effect of neck flexion and extension [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology, 2010
BackgroundNeck flexion has been shown to increase cranial spread of contrast agent when a small fixed volume was injected into the high thoracic epidural space.

Evolution Effects on Parton Energy Loss with Detailed Balance [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.C82:014901,2010, 2008
The initial conditions in the chemical non-equilibrated medium and Bjorken expanding medium at RHIC are determined. With a set of rate equations describing the chemical equilibration of quarks and gluons based on perturbative QCD, we investigate the consequence for parton evolution at RHIC.

An Individually Optimized Protocol of Contrast Medium Injection in Enhanced CT Scan for Liver Imaging

open access: yesContrast Media & Molecular Imaging, 2017
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of a new individualized contrast medium injection protocol for enhanced liver CT scan. Methods 324 patients who underwent plain and dual phase enhanced liver CT were randomly assigned to 2 groups: G1 (n = 224 ...

Spontaneous esophageal perforation (Boerhaave syndrome): Diagnosis with CT-esophagography

open access: yesJournal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock, 2013
Spontaneous esophageal perforation (Boerhaave syndrome) is a very uncommon, life-threatening surgical emergency that should be suspected in all patients presenting with lower thoracic-epigastric pain and a combination of gastrointestinal and respiratory ...

Transport phenomena in sharply contrasting media with a diffusion barrier [PDF]

open access: yes2011 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 44 465001, 2011
Using the advection-diffusion equation, we analytically study contaminant transport in a sharply contrasting medium with a diffusion barrier due to localization of a contaminant source in a low-permeability medium. Anomalous diffusion behavior and crossover between different transport regimes are observed.

MRI with intrathecal MRI gadolinium contrast medium administration: a possible method to assess glymphatic function in human brain

open access: yesActa Radiologica Open, 2015
Recently, the “glymphatic system” of the brain has been discovered in rodents, which is a paravascular, transparenchymal route for clearance of excess brain metabolites and distribution of compounds in the cerebrospinal fluid.

Use of Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasonography for the Characterization of Tumor Thrombi in Seven Dogs

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Tumors of adrenal and thyroid glands have been associated with vascular invasions—so-called tumor thrombi, both in humans and dogs. The detection and characterization of venous thrombi is an important diagnostic step in patients with primary tumors for ...
