Controlling interference in ambients
Proceedings of the 27th ACM SIGPLAN-SIGACT symposium on Principles of programming languages, 2000Two forms of interferences are individuated in Cardelli and Gordon's Mobile Ambients (MA): plain interferences, which are similar to the interferences one finds in CCS and p-calculus; and grave interferences, which are more dangerous and may be regarded as programming errors. To control interferences, the MA movement primitives are modified. On the new

Sensors, models and platform for ambient control
IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012The future of ambient intelligence (AmI) brings new challenges in designing adequate control systems able to handle a diversity of sensors, and actuators. The paper analyzes on the example of a personalized climate control the classification of sensor, actuator and control approaches and derives a system architecture for an AmI-based control system.

Optimal control theory for ambient pollution
International Journal of Control, 2010We study optimal control of systems of distributed parameters applied to problems of ambient pollution. The model consists of a parabolic partial differential equation that models the transport of a pollutant in an incompressible viscous fluid, with boundary conditions and initial value, that is in our model we consider the velocity that the pollutant ...

Self organizing ambient control space
Proceedings of the 1st ACM workshop on Dynamic interconnection of networks, 2005One of the major challenges in ambient networking is to provide interworking between heterogeneous and dynamically changing networks. This paper presents a novel network and system architecture enabling network self-organization and dynamic network composition.

Reflective Interaction Capabilities by Use of Ambient Manuals for an Ambient Light-Control
2016Intelligent Environments like Smart Homes consist of a variety of interconnected devices, which are increasingly controlled by NUI. However, provided interaction possibilities and functionality are often not obvious to users. Illustrating such scenario, we’ve developed an ambient light-control using two NUI devices for interaction.

Indoor localization using controlled ambient sounds
2012 International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN), 2012Audio-based receiver localization in indoor environments has multiple applications including indoor navigation, location tagging, and tracking. Public places like shopping malls and consumer stores often have loudspeakers installed to play music for public entertainment.

Safe Ambients: Control Flow Analysis and Security
2000We present a Control Flow Analysis (CFA) for the Safe Ambients, a variant of the calculus of Mobile Ambients. The analysis refines and computes an approximation of the run-time topology of processes. We use the result of the analysis to establish a secrecy property.
