Nearly-optimal quantum control: analytical approach
We propose nearly-optimal control strategies for changing states of a quantum system. We argue that quantum control optimization can be studied analytically within some protocol families that depend on a small set of parameters for optimization.

Colorimetric Sensing with Gold Nanoparticles on Electrowetting-Based Digital Microfluidics
Digital microfluidic (DMF) has been a unique tool for manipulating micro-droplets with high flexibility and accuracy. To extend the application of DMF for automatic and in-site detection, it is promising to introduce colorimetric sensing based on gold ...

Krotov: A Python implementation of Krotov's method for quantum optimal control [PDF]
We present a new open-source Python package, krotov, implementing the quantum optimal control method of that name. It allows to determine time-dependent external fields for a wide range of quantum control problems, including state-to-state transfer ...

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

ABSTRACT End‐of‐life conversations with adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer rarely occur without the guidance of healthcare professionals. As a part of the ‘Difficult Discussions’ study, focused on palliative care and advance care planning discussions with AYAs with cancer, we investigated the factors that healthcare professionals identify ...

A two‐stage algorithm for vehicle routing problem with charging relief in post‐disaster
This paper first investigates emergency transportation for power recovery in post‐disaster. The problem is formulated as a mixed‐integer linear programming model called vehicle routing problem with charging relief (VRPCR).

Shape deformation and optimal control [PDF]
Shape deformation analysis is concerned with determining a deformation of a given shape into another one, which is optimal for a certain cost. We provide the main ideas for a new general approach to shape deformation analysis, using the framework of optimal control theory. This point of view can be made independent from the parametrization of the shape,

Regret-Optimal Estimation and Control
We consider estimation and control in linear time-varying dynamical systems from the perspective of regret minimization. Unlike most prior work in this area, we focus on the problem of designing causal estimators and controllers which compete against a clairvoyant noncausal policy, instead of the best policy selected in hindsight from some fixed ...

Duality and Network Theory in Passivity-based Cooperative Control
This paper presents a class of passivity-based cooperative control problems that have an explicit connection to convex network optimization problems. The new notion of maximal equilibrium independent passivity is introduced and it is shown that networks ...

ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with
