Challenges in control engineering of computing systems

Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004
Over the last few years, there has been considerable success with applying control theory to computing systems. Our experience has been that there are several commonly occurring control problems in computing systems - translating between service oriented units (e.g., response times) and effector (actuator) units (e.g., the maximum number of connected ...

Controlled cooperation in engineering database systems

1987 IEEE Third International Conference on Data Engineering, 1987
Database systems for engineering applications must be particularly efficient in storing and retrieving very complex structures. But they must also be capable of assisting in the project-oriented cooperation of design engineers by supporting the controlled exchange of stored information.

Engine control system experiment

[1991 Proceedings] The Twenty-Third Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002
Describes an engine control system experiment the intent of which was to develop experiments on the CE7 Steam Engine Apparatus for incorporation in mechanical engineering laboratory. This goal was achieved by first determining the engine characteristics. Secondly the engine was interfaced with IBM PC computer.
