An Intelligent Control Systems Apparatus for the Control Engineering Laboratory
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1988Abstract The article describes the development of a simple laboratory apparatus for teaching some basic ideas associated with intelligent control systems, especially those encountered in pattern recognition and robotic movement. The specific aim is to meet the emerging need for laboratory teaching aids which take the student of control engineering ...

THE INTERACTIVE SYSTEM BLAISE FOR CONTROL ENGINEERING
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1985Abstract We give a description of the capabilities of the Blaise system which has been designed as an interactive tool in computer aided engineering. This system implements a full programming language working on a data basis adapted to control problems. It has been designed to achieve extensibility, portability and numerical efficiency.

AI in control Systems engineering
The Knowledge Engineering Review, 1990AbstractDecision-making is an integral part of any consideration of the discipline of control Systems. This implies feedback of knowledge in some format, whether it is mediated via human or machineoriented methods. The application of AI methodologies to control Systems engineering is described in this review under two broad categories of design and ...

Distributed Control System for Turbine Engines
Volume 5: Manufacturing Materials and Metallurgy; Ceramics; Structures and Dynamics; Controls, Diagnostics and Instrumentation; Education, 1998A Distributed Control System (DCS) for a turbine engine has been demonstrated and tested, consisting of prototype Electronic Interface Units (EIUs) connected to data and power busses. In the DCS, a central control computer communicated with smart sensors and smart actuators via a 2.5 megabit/sec digital data bus, using the Fieldbus protocol.

Elements of systems engineering of digital control
1995Control systems are the subsystems of plants which generate and send the commands to the plants’ ‘working’ components. Hence, they are the elements which turn motors on and off, regulate inputs, record (or log) data on the processes, send messages to operators, etc.
