Dominant factors controlling runoff coefficients in karst watersheds

Journal of Hydrology, 2020
Abstract As one of the largest continuous karst areas in the world, southwest China is experiencing a lack of surface water resources which have negative impacts on the development of the economy and the life of people. Determining the relationship between climate, watershed characteristics and the runoff coefficient is thus important to manage water

Coefficient Estimation in Adaptive Control Systems

1991
In Chapter 4 we discussed the coefficient estimation problem for linear stochastic systems without monitoring, i.e. there is no specific purpose for the system input. In order for the coefficient estimate to be consistent, we have clarified how the stochastic regressors φ n or φ n 0 or ψ n should behave.

Problems with control in the coefficients of Elliptic equations

Mathematical Notes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, 1983
Let \(D\subset {\mathbb{R}}^ n\) be a bounded domain with sufficiently smooth boundary \(\Gamma\) and \(V\subset {\mathbb{R}}^ m\) be a bounded set. The following problem is considered: \[ \int_{D}| u_ 1(x)-u_ 2(x)|^ 2dx+\alpha \int_{D}| v(x)-v^ 0(x)|^ 2dx\to \min, \] -(\(\partial /\partial x_ i)a_{ij}(x,v)u_{sx_ j}+a(x,v)u_ s=f(x,v)\), \(x\in D\), \(s=

Control of chaos in nonlinear systems with time-periodic coefficients

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2006
In this study, some techniques for the control of chaotic nonlinear systems with periodic coefficients are presented. First, chaos is eliminated from a given range of the system parameters by driving the system to a desired periodic orbit or to a fixed point using a full-state feedback.

Controllable Optical Solitons in Optical Fiber System with Distributed Coefficients

Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2011
Summary: We present how to control the dynamics of optical solitons in optical fibers under nonlinearity and dispersion management, together with the fiber loss or gain. We obtain a family of exact solutions for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which describes the propagation of optical pulses in optical fibers, and investigate the dynamical ...

Practical Determination of Control Coefficients in Metabolic Pathways

1990
It is obvious, not only for people working in metabolic control, that theory and practice can share common objectives but rarely share common roads, and it is often very difficult to put together in the same road theorists and experimentalists. In our opinion, metabolic control theories have also illustrated the difficulties in putting together these ...

Experimental determination of group flux control coefficients in metabolic networks

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1998
Grouping of reactions around key metabolite branch points can facilitate the study of metabolic control of complex metabolic networks. This top-down Metabolic Control Analysis is exemplified through the introduction of group (flux, as well as concentration) control coefficients whose magnitudes provide a measure of the relative impact of each reaction ...
