Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

Controller-Aware Dynamic Network Management for Industry 4.0 [PDF]
In this paper, we consider a cyber-physical manufacturing system (CPMS) scenario containing physical components (robots, sensors, and actuators), operating in a digitally connected, constrained environment to perform industrial tasks. The CPMS has a centralized control plane with digital twins (DTs) of the physical resources, computational resources ...

The development of a strategic control framework and its relationship with management accounting [PDF]
Management accounting systems have been criticised for being excessively focused on shortterm performance. As a result long-term strategic direction and goals may have been neglected.

This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

Dependable Management of Untrusted Distributed Systems [PDF]
The conventional approach to the online management of distributed systems---represented by such standards as SNMP for network management, and WSDM for systems based on service oriented computing (SOC)---relies on the components of the managed system to cooperate in the management process, by providing the managers with the means to monitor their state ...

Understanding Management Accounting Changes in a Family-Owned Company: A Greek Case Study [PDF]
This study seeks to understand the changes to management accounting controls in a large Greek company in the context of the rapidly changing socio-economic environment. The paper investigates the case of FA (here anonymised), a Greek dairy company, as it

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

Control-Based Resource Management Procedures for Satellite Networks [PDF]
This paper describes the resource management of a DVBRCS geostationary satellite network. The functional modules of the access layer aim at efficiently exploiting the link resources while assuring the contracted Quality of Service (QoS) to the ...

Analysis of ESR1 mutations in plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) is highly important for the selection of treatment in patients with breast cancer. Using multiplex‐ddPCR and identical blood draws, we investigated whether circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and cfDNA provide similar or complementary information for ESR1 mutations.

Holistic Cyber-Physical Management for Dependable Wireless Control Systems [PDF]
Wireless sensor-actuator networks (WSANs) are gaining momentum in industrial process automation as a communication infrastructure for lowering deployment and maintenance costs. In traditional wireless control systems the plant controller and the network manager operate in isolation, which ignore the significant influence of network reliability on plant
