ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

On the false discovery rate and an asymptotically optimal rejection curve
In this paper we introduce and investigate a new rejection curve for asymptotic control of the false discovery rate (FDR) in multiple hypotheses testing problems. We first give a heuristic motivation for this new curve and propose some procedures related

A Rejection Principle for Sequential Tests of Multiple Hypotheses Controlling Familywise Error Rates [PDF]
We present a unifying approach to multiple testing procedures for sequential (or streaming) data by giving sufficient conditions for a sequential multiple testing procedure to control the familywise error rate (FWER), extending to the sequential domain ...

Stepup procedures for control of generalizations of the familywise error rate
Consider the multiple testing problem of testing null hypotheses $H_1,...,H_s$. A classical approach to dealing with the multiplicity problem is to restrict attention to procedures that control the familywise error rate ($\mathit{FWER}$), the probability

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

HandiVote: simple, anonymous, and auditable electronic voting [PDF]
We suggest a set of procedures utilising a range of technologies by which a major democratic deficit of modern society can be addressed. The mechanism, whilst it makes limited use of cryptographic techniques in the background, is based around objects and ...

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.
