Linking biosurface reactivity and photosynthesis to investigate Sphagnum mosses as ecosystem engineers

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Habit photographs of field‐collected and in vitro‐cultivated (c) Sphagnum spp. used for experiments. Summary Sphagnum mosses regulate peatland carbon storage, hydrology, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem functioning. However, the links among their surface chemistry, photosynthesis, responses to submersion and pH remain poorly understood.

New Labor Governance? The German Supply Chain Act and National Governance Mechanisms in Brazil

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Due diligence laws respond to labor governance challenges and to a lack of public governance addressing human rights violations in Global Value Chains. Despite ongoing contestation, the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act seeks to hold German‐based firms accountable for human rights risks in their supply chains.

Directly Imprinted Porous Titania Metasurfaces Supporting Guided Mode Resonance and Quasibound States in the Continuum

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Direct nanoimprinting transforms mesoporous titania films into visible‐wavelength metasurfaces through a streamlined deposition‐and‐imprint process requiring no conventional lithography or etching. The resulting structures support pitch‐tunable guided‐mode resonances, symmetry‐controlled quasibound states in the continuum, structural‐color image ...

Phenolic Derivatives from the Leaves of (Bignoniaceae)

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2011
A new phenolic derivative, 4-methoxyphenol 1- O -β-D-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)- O -β-D-glucopyranoside ( 1 ), has been identified together with uncommon 3,4-dimethoxyphenol 1- O -β-D-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)- O -β-D-glucopyranoside ( 2 ) and 3-hydroxy, 4 ...

Sunlight‐Driven Green Synthesis of Platinum Nanoparticles From Double‐Vacancy Halide Perovskite Precursors for Methanol Reforming

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 32, 24 August 2026.
Sunlight‐driven synthesis offers a green and energy‐efficient route to metallic nanoparticles. Here, double‐vacancy halide perovskites (Cs2PtX6, X = Cl, Br) act as photoactive precursors for the in‐situ formation of ultrasmall (< 3 nm) platinum nanoparticles under simulated sunlight at room temperature.

Use of Invasive Rugulopteryx okamurae Beach Wrack as Habitat and Food by Talitrus saltator

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The introduction of non‐native algae into coastal waters has increased worldwide, causing a range of ecological and socio‐economic impacts. However, when stranded on beaches as wrack, these invasive algae can provide refuge and food for supralittoral organisms, potentially benefiting local fauna communities and beach functioning. In this study,

Amidst centralized and distributed frequency control in power systems

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a novel frequency control approach in between centralized and distributed architectures, that is a generalized continuous-time feedback control version of the dual decomposition optimization method.
