Perturbations of controlled systems [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Control & Related Fields, 2017
Using a compactness-uniqueness approach, we show that the Fattorini criterion implies the exact controllability of general compactly perturbed controlled linear systems. We then apply this perturbation result to obtain new controllability results for systems governed by partial differential equations.

The Systemic Control of Growth [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, 2015
Growth is a complex process that is intimately linked to the developmental program to form adults with proper size and proportions. Genetics is an important determinant of growth, as exemplified by the role of local diffusible molecules setting up organ proportions.

Characterization of Regional Poison Center Utilization Through Geospatial Mapping

open access: yesWestern Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2020
Introduction: Penetrance is the annual rate of human exposure calls per 1000 persons, a measure that historically describes poison center (PC) utilization. Penetrance varies by sociodemographic characteristics and by geography. Our goal in this study was
